Geospatial UK was created to broaden awareness and understanding of geospatial skills and technologies and its applications for the future. Geospatial UK recognises the availability
of jobs and the opportunities these present for young people.

Newcastle University is a leading university in the North East of England with over 29,000 students at campuses in Newcastle, Singapore, and Malaysia, and is one of the Russell Group of research-intensive Universities. Its Geospatial Engineering Group was founded in the 1960 and today has research strengths in geodesy, earth observation and geospatial data analysis and modelling, with a focus on addressing large societal challenges including climate change and sustainability. The group leads the Newcastle Urban Observatory and is a major contributor in many research projects, collaborating with other universities and organisations within the UK, EU and further afield.
Location Data Scotland is an inclusive geospatial community across Scotland, established to unlock the value in location data and drive skills development for the sector. We have been created to leverage location data as an enabler of innovation and to create greater efficiency in the products and services delivered and utilised by organisations and the public sector in Scotland. Our aim is to connect, inform and facilitate collaboration between industry, academia, public and third sector, across multiple sectors, to drive innovation, unlock skills and enable economic growth.
Facilitated by our independent cluster building experts, Optimat, we will work to bring together an inclusive community of entrepreneurs, industry, third sector, academia and public sector to collaborate, drive innovation, create opportunities and efficiencies and unlock the value in location data across multiple industries and sectors.
The University of Edinburgh is one of the UK's the leading research and teaching universities and the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world, founded in 1582. It was the first university in Europe to launch a Masters programme in Geographical Information Science in 1985 and continues to innovate in geospatial education and research.
The School of GeoSciences has research strengths in geospatial modelling and visualisation, together with earth observation.
The Scottish Government is the devolved government for Scotland and has a range of responsibilities that include the economy, education, health, justice, rural affairs, housing, environment and transport. It creates
geospatial information directly and through its agencies, and is responsible for managing, modelling and visualising and disseminating such data for service provision and the public good.
The Geographic Information Science and Analysis Team procures geospatial information for use across local and central government, and provides analysis services and visualisations to Government departments and the Scottish Ministers.
Actively supporting a sustainable future, the Association for Geographic Information is an independent and impartial organisation that represents both individuals and organisations working in the geospatial sector.
AGI Scotland focuses on the interests of the geographic information community in Scotland.
